Wakefield Brunswick Announces New Vice President, Angie M. Santiago, to the Leadership Team

The WB team is proud to announce the addition of Angie Marie Santiago to our firm. As Vice President of Administration, Angie will oversee daily operations of Wakefield Brunswick’s Human Resources, Finance, Legal, and CISO functions. In addition to her duties as VP of Administration, Angie will oversee the WB Academy, which will educate the company’s healthcare emergency preparedness consultants of its professional standards, healthcare resiliency methodologies, and client service excellence.

Angie began her healthcare disaster and emergency career responding to Hurricane Andrew in 1992. She has collaborated with standards associations, businesses, healthcare systems, higher education, NGOs, and governmental agencies to develop planning, response, recovery, and post-event frameworks. She has planned, responded to, or participated in over 110 private and public disaster declarations. Her business continuity curriculum is taught in the North Carolina higher education system.

As a systems designer, Angie’s integrated methodologies from WHO, SENDAI, DHHS, FEMA, NFPA, NIST, NHSPI, and PMI. Angie is currently redesigning strategies to include conflict management, violence, and community readiness. She is committed to designing programs that are more accessible, inclusive, affordable, and easier to implement. As part of her Peace and Conflicts Graduate program at the University of Carolina at Greensboro, Angie studies post-disaster conflicts and violence.

Angie is an active member of the CISA 405(d) Task Force which is dedicated to the privacy and availability of health information, InfraGard, Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals, North Carolina Health Information Communications Alliance, Planners for Puerto Rico, and the National Health Security Preparedness Index. Outside of the office, Angie engages in local community arts and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Carolina Theatre of Durham.
