Wakefield Brunswick Announces New Senior Director of Client Services, Crystal Carlson

The WB Team is proud to welcome our newest team member, Crystal Carlson.

As the Senior Director of Client Services, Crystal will serve as a subject matter expert on client projects related to healthcare emergency management, continuity of operations, facilities continuity, business continuity, and disaster recovery. Her support to Client Services will ensure the successful delivery of client engagements and education offerings across the advisory, education, and research service lines. She will also be leading WB’s team of advisors and interns in partnership with the WB Academy.

Crystal Carlson, MPH, MEP, CBCP, is an accomplished Emergency Management and Business Continuity professional known for strong program management experience in healthcare, public health, local government, and private industry. Crystal is also fully credentialed as a Certified Business Continuity Practitioner (CBCP), Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP), and Incident Command System (ICS) Instructor.

Crystal has nearly a decade’s experience leading and managing consulting projects across the United States. In her previous roles, Crystal has coordinated crisis management and business continuity planning efforts for a number of enterprises, including an insurance corporation consisting of 30,000 employees over 700 internal locations. In addition to facilitating corporate emergency management compliance and standardizing training and exercise programs in government, healthcare, insurance, and other sectors, she has also coordinated the emergency preparedness activities of a healthcare system consisting of four hospitals, over 120 medical offices, 10,000 employees, and thousands of daily patients, visitors, and contractors.

As Wakefield Brunswick develops our offerings to make them more accessible in a fast-growing virtually-dependent COVID-19 age, Crystal’s experience with standardizing training and exercise programs for internal hospital preparedness for healthcare organizations of all sizes will be a pivotal driver in our work.

“It is easy to develop a plan or compliance documents that “check a box”; it is more challenging, but much more fulfilling, to create an environment where personnel feel confident in their ability to respond and manage any type of disruption.”

As the Senior Director of Client Services, Crystal aims to help our clients create an environment where personnel feel confident in responding to and managing any type of disruption.

Crystal has also worked closely with the Chicago Marathon production team for over a decade. In recent years, she has focused on managing emergency preparedness and response for the 45,000-person event with local, state, and federal partners. You’ll find her ready to go at 2 am on most race days!
