Wakefield Brunswick and The Field Innovation Team Respond to Post Hurricane Ian

Wakefield Brunswick and The Field Innovation Team have been deployed to SW Florida to provide response and recovery support to communities most impacted by Hurricane Ian.

While Wakefield Brunswick will coordinate volunteers to support or augment personnel within healthcare organizations, FIT is supporting the needs of local emergency management organizations and the greater community with extensive experience in mass care sheltering (Washington, Texas, Florida, and Alabama communities) as well as co-building new solutions in response and recovery gaps.

Although our offices and homes near our Tampa headquarters did not suffer major damage, communities just South of us experienced catastrophic loss of life, infrastructure, and property. In solidarity, we are working alongside our neighbors to support their recovery efforts.

Together with our partner and friends at The Field Innovation Team (FIT), we are in the field assessing the response and recovery needs within the local counties, health organizations, and vulnerable communities. As we continue to receive requests to assist, we may have volunteer opportunities available. If you wish to be considered for virtual or onsite deployment, simply complete our Hurricane Ian Recovery Volunteer Registration form.

The Field Innovation Team (FIT) is a disaster relief organization headquartered in Heber City, Utah.

FIT brings together innovative social changers, systems designers, technologists, scientists, and emergency managers to innovate in real-time.
