Healthcare & Hospital Emergency Management Our emergency management team’s healthcare experience includes dozens of Joint Commission surveys, the development of emergency management plans for hospitals around the country and responding to several disaster events. We have examined the impact of disasters on hospitals, with specific interest in those rendered inoperable or seriously crippled operationally and financially. Following several evaluations of these events we know more about the impact to hospitals directly affected by emergencies and catastrophic events and share that experience with our clients. Additionally we work with public health agencies to facilitate a collaborative and coherent approach among state and tribal officials to identify and prioritize concerns relating to public health emergencies and disasters.

International Development & Disaster Management Together with Mahila Partnership, our team works with international partners to strengthen organizational resiliency and enable local organizations to better be able to achieve mission success. This allows often over-committed organizations to not only consider, but respond to, rapid changes in their operating landscape, particularly in post-disaster settings. We serve as advisors to provide ongoing support remotely and on the ground with respect to healthcare, gender issues, special needs populations, sheltering and post disaster reconstruction.
Healthcare Business Continuity/COOP Our team designs programs that aim to reduce the economic impact to our healthcare clients during an active incident. At Wakefield Brunswick we understand the administrative, logistical, and compliance complexities of running not only a hospital but the associated health care system. We contribute to and advise on business continuity standards, guidelines, and requirements. Additionally, we apply our experiences and research to yield measurable positive results when it comes to maintaining continuity of care during crisis, accelerating recovery, and the ability to maintain economic viability post disaster. As a result of our experience, and research outcomes, our team is sought out by the organizations developing academic and professional development curriculum in response to these changing requirements.
